more Honduras pics

Haley with Dennilson.  He was attached to Haley all week!  He is such a cutie!  Will post more when time allows.  Thank you for understanding our fatigue and playing catch-up in our fast paced world again.

Baby Lucas

Haley and baby Lucas.  He is 6 months old and was one of three babies.  He was adoreable and loved to laugh and smile and show his dimples.  Shelby was him "mom" for the week but she graciously allowed others to babysit him (usually only for a few minutes!).

We are home, but we hit the ground running!  We arrived home Wednesday night at midnight to find a tree had fallen from the storms.  It was across our driveway where BOTH our cars were parked while we were gone.  God is so good that the elm tree on the other side of our driveway caught the fallen tree so it did NOT annihilate our cars!  We moved our cars out of harms way and went to clean one of our contracts and got home around 2:00 a.m.  So please excuse us as we take a day or two and we will post our experience with pictures later this week.  Many blessings to our friends who had us surrounded in prayer!  We could not have been more blessed, thank you.  And to our wonderful neighbor and friends the Fosters who came to our rescue and cut down the fallen tree so we may park our cars once again.  Shari

Honduras day 4

Hello all! We made it to Honduras a couple days ago but have been too busy to post anything. We landed in puerto lempira two days ago after three LONG flights. When we first got to the House of Hope the kids were SO excited to see us! They jumped up and down saying "the gringos are here! The gringos are here!" "Gringo" is the name the Honduran people call us foreigners. The past two days have been a blur of running around, pushing children on the swings, and carrying the kids. I can't wait to post more about our awesome trip!

One and a Half Days Left!

Goodness, is it that close already?! I cannot believe we are leaving in just one more day! (^o^)/ After a VERY long week of packing, going to Walmart, repacking, and then heading back to Walmart for the things we forgot the first time we are finally going to be heading out. I sure hope I haven't forgotten anything important (^ ^;). We are going to be leaving this Sunday at 3:00 in the morning, talk about an early start haha! I am so thankful for all of the people who helped support us so we can go on this trip!! Well I have to go finish a few more chores before we leave. The next time we post we will be in Honduras!

5 Days and counting!

We are packing and getting excited to be on our way!  Thank you all again for making this mission trip a possibility for us!  With your generous donations we exceeded our travel needs and are able to purchase items for the House of Hope.  Many, many, many cloth diapers and pins along with some socks and toys.  Thank you for supporting us and please keep us in your prayers along our journey.  See you in Honduras!

School supplies

Yes!  I added another photo from past Honduras mission trip.  This is on a smaller island of Mosquito Indian school children. The mission team was handing out new school supplies.  Ok, now I am getting excited to go, we've got the blog running and these pictures makes me want to be there NOW.

Still Fixing the blog

Fixing the blog...Thank you Emily Husek for helping us!  Now I even have the terminology right, you create a blog then you post, you DON'T keep creating new blogs!!  I will be practicing some more so hang in there with the boring stuff and also perhaps some weird pictures..hmmm..maybe I can even find some embarrassing baby pictures of Haley if she doesn't start posting.  Well, at least SHE remembered our password heheh.

Getting Started

This is my second attempt.  The first attempt showed all was well, but then we signed on another computer and it was GONE.  Haley, help your old mamma!!!  Here is my first post...next one I will try a photo...oohh ahhh.

Mom's trying to post!

Here is a picture I took in Honduras 5 years ago.  I am trying to see if I can post pictures and videos so we can keep you updated and see how the Lord is moving and shaking in Honduras in June!  Again please forgive me as I experiment.  Shari

Getting Ready

Sunday Feb 23, 2014:  Ok this is my first blog and I apologize if I do things incorrectly.  Haley and Shari are setting up this blog for all of our family, friends, and church family who want to follow our journey to Honduras.  Pictures and stories will hopefully follow.  I ask for our first prayer for our prayer team, to be that of wisdom and patience while we try to figure out blogging!!!  Thank you.
